Terms of Use

Effective Date: February 6, 2026

Welcome to Cruit. These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cruit platform, including our website, web application, Chrome browser extension, mobile applications, and all related services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Cruit ("Company," "we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. Please read these Terms carefully before using Cruit.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use the Service. By using Cruit, you represent and warrant that you are at least 18 years old, are legally capable of entering into binding agreements, and that your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws and regulations. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration and Security

To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information, to maintain and promptly update your account information, to keep your login credentials confidential and secure, to accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account, and to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that contain inaccurate information or that we reasonably believe have been compromised.

3. Description of the Service

3.1 Your Brand

3.2 Your Jobs

  • Resume Tailoring Module: Keyword optimization, ethical AI coaching for experience alignment, and ATS-optimized PDF generation.

3.3 Your Performance

  • Career Guidance Module: AI-simulated expert panel consultations with iterative dialogue and strategic planning summaries.
  • Journaling Module: Conversational journaling, automated skill extraction, and performance review generation from journal entries.
  • Job Tracker: Application stage tracking, Sankey diagram visualization of your job search funnel, and proactive data-driven insights.

4. Chrome Browser Extension

Certain features of the Service require the installation of the Cruit Chrome browser extension. The extension enables importing of contact information from LinkedIn for use within the Networking Module and importing of job descriptions from external websites for use within the Job Analysis Module. By installing and using the extension, you acknowledge that the extension interacts with third-party websites, you are responsible for complying with the terms of service of those third-party platforms, and the extension only collects data that you actively choose to import. We do not scrape or collect data from third-party websites without your direct action.

5. AI-Generated Content and Limitations

5.1 Nature of AI Output

The Service uses artificial intelligence to generate content including but not limited to resume text, LinkedIn profile suggestions, networking messages, interview answers, career path recommendations, skill gap analyses, expert panel simulations, and performance review drafts. All AI-generated content is provided as suggestions and recommendations only. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and approving any content before use.

5.2 Ethical AI Commitment

Cruit is designed to be faithful to your actual experience. The AI will not fabricate qualifications, skills, or experiences on your behalf. When gaps exist between your experience and job requirements, the AI acts as a coach to help you identify relevant experience you may have overlooked, rather than generating false claims.

5.3 No Professional Advice

The Service does not provide legal, financial, psychological, or certified career counseling advice. The Career Guidance Module's expert panel simulation generates AI personas for illustrative purposes only and does not constitute advice from actual licensed professionals. You should consult qualified professionals for decisions that require professional expertise.

5.4 Accuracy Disclaimer

While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. Career path data, salary insights, market trends, and skill assessments are generated based on available data and should be independently verified. We do not guarantee that use of the Service will result in employment, career advancement, or any specific professional outcome.

6. User Content and Data

6.1 Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the content you provide to the Service, including resumes, work history, journal entries, contact information, job descriptions you import, and video recordings submitted through Interview Practice. By submitting content to the Service, you grant Cruit a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, process, store, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing and improving the Service.

6.2 Content Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and legality of all content you submit. You represent that you have the right to submit all content you provide, your content does not infringe upon the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party, and any information you provide about your professional experience is truthful and accurate.

6.3 Video Recordings

The Interview Practice feature allows you to record video responses for AI-based feedback on content and physical delivery. These recordings are processed to provide feedback and are stored in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You may delete your recordings at any time through your account settings.

7. Subscriptions and Payment

7.1 Subscription Plans

Access to the Service requires a paid subscription. We offer multiple subscription tiers including monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual plans. Current pricing, features included in each tier, and any free trial offerings are displayed on our website and may be updated from time to time.

7.2 Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis according to the billing cycle you select. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your designated payment method at the beginning of each billing period. All fees are stated in U.S. dollars unless otherwise indicated.

7.3 Cancellation and Refunds

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Upon cancellation, you will retain access to the Service through the end of your current billing period. Refunds are handled in accordance with our refund policy as published on our website. We reserve the right to modify our refund policy at any time.

7.4 Price Changes

We reserve the right to change our subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days' notice of any price increase. Continued use of the Service after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new pricing.

8. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the Service to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent professional information, generate deceptive or fabricated credentials or qualifications, harass, stalk, or collect personal information about other individuals, violate the terms of service of any third-party platform (including LinkedIn), reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, use automated scripts, bots, or crawlers to access the Service, share your account credentials with others or allow unauthorized access, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent, or upload malicious code, viruses, or any harmful content.

9. Intellectual Property

9.1 Our Property

The Service, including its design, software, algorithms, AI models, branding, logos, documentation, and all related intellectual property, is owned by Cruit and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks, trade names, or branding without prior written consent.

9.2 Your Output

Subject to these Terms, you own the final documents and content you create using the Service (such as tailored resumes and cover letters) after you have reviewed and approved them. However, you may not claim ownership of the underlying AI technology, algorithms, or templates used to generate such content.

10. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Service may integrate with or reference third-party platforms, including LinkedIn, job boards, and Applicant Tracking Systems. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or practices of any third-party service. Your use of third-party services is governed by their respective terms and policies. Integration with third-party services may be modified or discontinued at any time.

11. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE, THAT AI-GENERATED CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR YOUR PURPOSES, THAT USE OF THE SERVICE WILL RESULT IN EMPLOYMENT OR CAREER ADVANCEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL MEET YOUR SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS.

12. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CRUIT AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Cruit and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any third-party rights, or any content you submit to the Service.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may request export of your data for a period of 30 days following termination, after which your data may be permanently deleted. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall remain in effect, including but not limited to intellectual property provisions, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification.

15. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the "Effective Date" above. For significant changes, we will also notify you via the email address associated with your account. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of laws provisions. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be submitted to good-faith mediation. If mediation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. You agree to waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

17. General Provisions

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and Cruit regarding your use of the Service and supersede all prior agreements. If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
